Article 1 (General Provisions)

e11u (hereinafter the "Company") complies with the Personal Information Protection Act, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and other relevant laws. In order to protect users' personal information and to handle related complaints promptly and smoothly, the Company establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy as follows.

This Policy applies to the 'English for you! (e11u)' service (hereinafter the "Service") provided by the Company. In the event that the Company revises this Policy, it will announce such changes through in-Service notices (or individual notifications).

Article 2 (Items of Personal Information Collected and Purpose of Use)

The Company collects and uses the following personal information for purposes such as membership registration, service provision, and customer support. The collected personal information is not used for any purpose other than those specified, and if the purpose of use changes, the Company will take necessary measures, such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.

Article 3 (Retention and Use Period of Personal Information)

(1) In principle, the Company destroys the relevant information without delay once the purpose of collecting and using personal information has been achieved. Member information is retained and used until the member withdraws from membership.

(2) Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, where it is necessary to preserve information in accordance with the provisions of relevant laws, the Company retains personal information for the period prescribed by law as set out below.

  • Records on contracts or withdrawal of subscription: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Records on payment and supply of goods: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Records on consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Service usage records and access logs regarding website visits: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)

Article 4 (Procedure and Method for Destroying Personal Information)

The Company destroys personal information without delay once the purpose of its collection and use has been achieved or its retention period has elapsed. The procedure and method are as follows.

A. Destruction Procedure

Information entered by the user is, once its purpose has been achieved, transferred to a separate database in cases that fall under the grounds for retention under internal policy and relevant laws (see Article 3), stored for a certain period, and then destroyed. Personal information stored separately is not used for any purpose other than that of retention, except as required by law.

B. Destruction Method

  • Personal information stored in electronic file format is deleted using technical methods that make the records irrecoverable.
  • Personal information recorded and stored on paper documents is destroyed by shredding or incineration.

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties and Outsourcing of Processing)

(1) The Company uses users' personal information only within the scope notified in Article 2, and in principle does not use it beyond that scope or provide it externally without the user's prior consent. However, the following cases are exceptions.

  • Where the user has given prior consent
  • Where required by the provisions of law, or where an investigative agency makes a request in accordance with the procedures and methods prescribed by law for investigative purposes

(2) To provide the Service smoothly, the Company outsources personal information processing tasks to external specialized providers as set out below. When entering into outsourcing contracts, the Company stipulates the necessary matters in accordance with relevant laws to ensure that personal information is managed securely.

Article 6 (Rights and Obligations of Users and Legal Representatives, and Methods of Exercise)

  • Users may view or modify their registered personal information at any time, and may request withdrawal of consent to collection and use or cancellation of membership (membership withdrawal).
  • To view or modify personal information, please use the settings menu within the Service or contact the Data Protection Officer by email, and we will take action without delay.
  • If a user requests correction of an error in their personal information, the Company will not use or provide the relevant personal information to any third party until the correction is completed.
  • The Company processes personal information that has been canceled or deleted at the user's request in accordance with the periods specified in Article 3, and ensures that it cannot be viewed or used for any other purpose.
  • Where the Company collects the personal information of a child under the age of 14, it complies with obligations under relevant laws, such as obtaining the consent of the legal representative.

Article 7 (Installation, Operation, and Refusal of Automatic Personal Information Collection Devices)

The Company uses 'cookies' that store and retrieve user information in order to provide personalized services to users. A cookie is a small text file sent by the server used to operate a website to the user's browser, and it is stored on the user's device.

A. Purpose of Using Cookies

The Company analyzes users' access frequency, visit times, and the like to understand service usage patterns and uses this to improve the Service.

B. How to Refuse Cookie Settings

Users have the right to choose whether to store cookies. Through the settings at the top of your web browser, you can allow all cookies, require confirmation each time a cookie is stored, or refuse the storage of all cookies. However, if you refuse to store cookies, there may be restrictions on the use of some services.

C. Collection of Statistical Data via Google Analytics

This Service uses Google Analytics, provided by Google, to analyze website visits and usage behavior. Google Analytics may collect browser identification information and the like in a de-identified form. Users who wish to refuse this collection can block it by installing the browser add-on provided by Google (Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on).

Article 8 (Data Protection Officer and Methods of Remedy for Infringement of Rights)

The Company designates a Data Protection Officer as set out below to take overall responsibility for tasks related to personal information processing and to handle users' inquiries, complaints, and damage relief related to personal information processing.

Users may report to the Data Protection Officer any matters concerning personal information protection inquiries, complaint handling, or damage relief that arise while using the Service, and the Company will respond to and handle such matters without delay.

Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

This Privacy Policy is effective from the initial effective date (June 15, 2026). If there are any additions, deletions, or corrections to the content due to changes in laws, policies, or security technology, the changes will be announced through in-Service notices starting 7 days before they take effect.
